*We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator III to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft Inc. Responsible for interpreting client specifications and entering them into the CNC machine, setting up and monitoring machine as it operates. This position will make critical contributions to the company’s reputation, ensuring the excellence of products by following inspection protocols and detecting errors before products are released. *

Key Responsibilities

• Must have advanced knowledge of various Laser machinery and equipment necessary to produce metal components

• Promote “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensure staff are following safety procedures/guidelines

• Must follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out

• Understand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hour

• Consistent and accurate counts of materials and products

• Create and/or write new programs from a print

• Performs necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communication

• Ability to perform advanced adjustments and repairs to machines

• Ability to set up workstation according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiency

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures

• Ability to recall and input programs

• Perform complete machine set ups without assistance

• Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management

• May run multiple Laser machines as needed

• Knowledge to select tooling for process

• Accurately check out tools through tool crib inventory system

• Ability to qualify first part approval for inspection

• Assists with performing preventative maintenance as needed

• Ability to read, write and save setup sheets for various machines

• Ability to trouble shoot cutting process and make adjustments

• Ability to create new cutting conditions for new material types

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

• Minimum 3 years’ cutting experience required; metals preferred

• Experience running, troubleshooting, and programming Laser machines

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions

• Working knowledge of machinery with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred

• Ability to understand and follow instructions

• Ability to share knowledge among co-workers, peers, and managers

• Effective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgency

• Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, Faro Arm and CMM

• Ability to be forklift certified

• Ability to follow hoist safety protocols

• Self-motivated, takes initiative

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis

• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours

• Excellent hand/eye coordination

• Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools

• Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina

• Consistently wear personal protective equipment

• Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

The expected base pay range for this position is between $24 and $30 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
