Embedded Software Engineer (Mid–Senior Level)
Location: Midtown Atlanta, GA (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $115,000 – $175,000 base (up to $190,000 for exceptional candidates)
Openings: 4 (role open year-round)
Overview
We are seeking a Mid to Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of real-time, mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) systems. This role focuses on embedded software for fighter systems, electronic countermeasures, radar warning receivers, and next-generation aerospace platforms, including new technology insertion into legacy systems.
This position is 100% onsite in Midtown Atlanta and requires U.S. Citizenship with eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of post-degree professional experience in embedded or systems-level software development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
- Experience developing embedded software for complex military or safety‐critical systems
- Strong programming experience in C and/or C++ (Ada experience a plus)
- Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)

- Experience with Green Hills, VxWorks, or equivalent RTOS strongly preferred
- Experience developing software on multi-core processors
- Familiarity with embedded software development processes, standards, and documentation
- Ability to work onsite in Midtown Atlanta, Monday–Friday
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline
- Experience with VxWorks 653
- Experience with CORBA (TAO)
- Experience using LDRA or similar unit test and verification tool suites
- Background supporting fighter aircraft, electronic warfare, radar, or aerospace systems
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software to meet system and program requirements
- Develop and support software and scripts for embedded development workflows
- Follow established embedded software and firmware development processes
- Develop software requirements, architecture, and detailed designs
- Ensure software complies with military, safety, and security standards
- Provide software development estimates and technical input for planning
- Support new technology insertion into legacy DoD systems
- Contribute to technical reports, white papers, and competitive proposals
- Create and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Mentor junior engineers and student employees as needed

Security & Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must be eligible for a Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree must be from an accredited institution
