J.H. Larson Company is an independent distributor of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Datacom products with 9 locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota and 4 showroom locations. We have a great opportunity to join our Management Team out of our Corporate Office in Plymouth, MN. The IT Manager is an on-site role responsible for implementing, participating and maintaining technology infrastructure in alignment with the business objectives of the JH Larson Company. The IT Manager monitors the organization's operational requirements, security, research strategies and technology solutions, and builds the most cost-effective and efficient system to achieve those objectives. They directly oversee and manage the day-to-day workflow of the IT Help Desk and Network Systems Administrator roles. This role responds immediately to security and high-level incidents and provides post-incident analysis.

Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with senior management to align IT strategy with business goals. Plan and implement IT projects, including budgets and timelines. Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.
- Manage IT Staff: Supervise, train, develop and lead IT staff.
- Oversee network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and security systems to ensure uptime, performance, and security of internal systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures. Monitor and respond to security threats. Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures.
- Ensure that end-users receive timely and effective support. Oversee the helpdesk team and resolve escalated issues.
- Manage relationships with hardware, software, and service providers. Oversee procurement of IT resources and negotiate contracts.
- Develop and manage the IT department’s budget. Monitor expenditures and seek cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field
Experience and/or Training
- Minimum 7 years of previous information technology or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership orientation – Actively seeks ways in which to act as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others within the department
- Solid understanding of the administration network operating system, Infrastructure, and services found in a company environment
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate with a multi-functional team
- Strong analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Detail oriented, organized, consistent and tenacious; able to plan project and appropriate completion dates; good time management skills
- A team player – work together with others to accomplish common goals of the company
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems that flow into the IT Help Desk
- Ability to work under the stress of meeting many requests and deadlines that sometimes conflict
- Ability to travel to branch and other locations (10%)
