Pay: $22-$24/hour

A mission-driven healthcare organization in Downtown Los Angeles (Skid Row area) is seeking a Care Team Specialist (CTS) to support a safe, respectful clinical environment while providing compassionate, trauma?informed care to individuals experiencing homelessness.
This role is ideal for someone who is grounded, empathetic, and comfortable working in high-acuity community settings, with a strong understanding of harm reduction principles.
What You'll Do
As a Care Team Specialist, you will play a critical on-site role supporting clients and staff by maintaining safety, stability, and dignity within the clinical setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide on-site safety and support at a harm-reduction focused clinical site
- Monitor clinic grounds and common areas to ensure a safe, welcoming environment
- Utilize trauma-informed de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques
- Engage clients using non-judgmental, respectful, and supportive communication
- Respond appropriately to escalating situations while following established protocols
- Collaborate closely with clinical and operations staff
- Accurately document incidents and maintain strict confidentiality
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations (homeless services, behavioral health, substance-use support, shelter/residential programs, outreach, or community health)
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and harm reduction
- Comfort working onsite in Skid Row or similar high-need environments
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused in crisis situations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Schedule & Work Environment
- Onsite in Downtown Los Angeles (Skid Row)
- Shifts may include morning, swing, or overnight, with potential weekend coverage
- Temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential
Compensation
- $22-$24 per hour
- Temp-to-hire with opportunity for conversion based on performance and business needs
