The Malone Park Center for the Arts After School Instructor will assist the planning, organizing, and implementation of afterschool programming. The schedule will be Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fields of focus will include: etiquette, fine arts, textiles, music, and sculpture. Instructors should have experience in the field(s) of focus and experience leading instruction of elementary aged children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management.
- Provide a safe learning environment for children;
- Communicate professionally with parents and Malone Park Center for the Arts staff;
- Greet children upon arrival, sign-in, and serve afternoon snack;
- Instruct and/or supervise one hour of artistic instruction which could include etiquette, fine arts (drawing, painting, photography), textiles (hand and machine sewing, leather works, etc.), music (percussion, guitar, ukulele, recorder), sculpture (pottery, paper mache, etc.)
- Supervise homework time and offer guidance;
- Maintain, organize and clean facilities and workspaces; and
- Engage and encourage children in their artistic endeavors.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Current high school student or High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Leadership roles, extracurricular activities or volunteer work are preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current drivers license (Class "E") valid in the state of Missouri as well as access to a vehicle and proper insurance coverage.
