Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team on a contract basis in Hackensack, New Jersey. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in legal processes and administrative support. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and type legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Utilize WordPerfect and other software tools to draft letters and other written materials.
• Upload legal filings and documents to eCourts in compliance with established procedures.
• Manage administrative tasks such as calendar scheduling and case management.
• Assist with client relations by maintaining clear and effective communication.
• Handle billing functions and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Support briefing and documentation processes in collaboration with attorneys.
• Utilize tools like Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and CompuLaw for efficient workflow.
• Maintain a steady pace in a structured, moderately-paced work environment.• Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar administrative role.
• Proficiency in WordPerfect and other relevant software.
• Familiarity with eCourts and legal document filing processes.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of case management software and tools such as Aderant and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to handle billing and briefing tasks effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in a legal setting is highly preferred.
