Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to support a team of attorneys in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This contract role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, has a strong background in defense litigation, and is familiar with e-filing processes. Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys with preparing and filing legal documents, including e-filing processes specific to Philadelphia.
• Manage case calendars and schedules to ensure deadlines are met and hearings are properly coordinated.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Conduct research and compile information to support litigation efforts.
• Communicate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
• Handle administrative tasks such as drafting correspondence and managing incoming legal communications.
• Ensure compliance with court filing procedures and deadlines.
• Provide support for defense litigation matters, including insurance defense cases.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure seamless workflow and case preparation.
• Monitor and update case management systems to track progress and maintain organization.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in defense litigation, preferably with insurance defense.
• Proficiency in Philadelphia e-filing procedures and court filing systems.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Familiarity with civil litigation processes and terminology.
• Competence in calendar management and scheduling for legal proceedings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other legal professionals.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documents and correspondence.
