Summary
As a 1031 Exchange Specialist, you will guide clients through the completion of real property 1031 Exchanges. This role involves managing all aspects of the exchange process, including drafting correspondence, entering data into systems, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance. You will collaborate with real estate professionals and maintain accuracy and timeliness throughout each transaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide exceptional service.
- Communicate effectively with clients, realtors, lenders, title companies, and other professionals.
- Advise clients on 1031 Exchange requirements and issues.
- Maintain and monitor files for compliance with IRS Section 1031, BSA, and the Patriot Act.
- Support team members by assisting with or covering files as needed.
- Coordinate and attend closings related to 1031 exchanges.
- Manage client funds and disbursements in accordance with 1031 Exchange policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review exchange documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development.
- Represent the company at trade shows and community events; travel as required.
- Promote 1031 Exchange services and other Verus Bank of Commerce products.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the industry.
- Strong understanding of real estate transactions, including reviewing contracts and settlement statements.
- In-depth knowledge of IRS Section 1031 regulations.
