About the Role:
Park Schools Montessori is seeking reliable and flexible Substitute Teachers who can step in on an as-needed basis to support our classrooms. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and can quickly adapt to different classroom environments while maintaining a positive and nurturing atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Step in for absent teachers and follow provided lesson plans or classroom routines
- Maintain a safe, calm, and engaging classroom environment
- Supervise and support children in daily activities, including learning, play, and transitions
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and redirection
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all students at all times
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding classroom updates or concerns
- Assist with basic classroom organization and clean-up
Requirements:
- Experience working with young children (preferred)
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups (infants to 6 years old)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and classroom procedures
- Must be dependable and available on short notice when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience
- Familiarity with Montessori principles (a plus, but not required)
Schedule:
- On-call / as needed
- Hours may vary depending on staffing needs
