The Bernard Group is looking for a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a technical authority and trusted partner across sales, sourcing, estimating, engineering, and our vendor network. You will engage early in the sales process, translating customer concepts into manufacturable, cost-effective retail fixture solutions.

You will leverage expert-level SOLIDWORKS skills and deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to create accurate engineering models, drawings, pricing inputs, and prototypes. You will also support high-level estimating, guide feasibility decisions, and ensure strong handoffs to the engineering team for finalization.

This is a senior-level, highly collaborative, customer-facing engineering role that requires advanced technical judgment, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

A variety of these traits will help land you this job:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
  • expert proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS PDM, and relevant engineering tools
  • deep knowledge of materials (wood, metal, plastic), manufacturing processes, and cost drivers
  • strong ability to translate conceptual ideas into accurate models and high-level engineering designs
  • strong understanding of hardware, finishes, fabrication techniques, and fixture construction
  • experience with prototyping, testing, and validating engineering feasibility
  • familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping technologies
  • strong knowledge of G-Suite, Microsoft Word/Excel, and Adobe products
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing, team-oriented environment

In this position, you will:

  • partner with clients, sales, designers, product developers, and project managers to define technical requirements and create high-level engineering designs
  • lead the design and development of custom retail fixtures from concept through production using SOLIDWORKS
  • create 3D models, drawings (as needed), specifications, and PDF drawing packages for production and estimating
  • provide accurate revision control for all SOLIDWORKS files
  • deliver detailed engineering handoffs that enable the engineering team to finalize work with minimal revisions
  • work with vendor partners to understand fabrication techniques and ensure manufacturability
  • assist with prototypes, testing, and validation of quality and safety requirements
  • select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost and performance
  • create renderings using PhotoView360 or Visualize (as needed)
  • provide technical support during production, installation, and troubleshooting
  • participate in or lead value-engineering discussions
  • stay current with industry trends, materials, technologies, and pricing
  • manage multiple projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
  • complete quality checks on drawing packages to ensure excellence
  • perform other duties and projects as assigned

Compensation Range: $120,000-$130,000 annually

*Range reflects our good-faith assessment of our hiring range for this role based on market conditions, experience level, and internal equity considerations.
