Job DescriptionAbout the RoleAre you passionate about helping others gain independence and confidence through real-world learning? We’re looking for a part-time Adult Skills Trainer to lead fun, hands-on life skills trainings for adults with mild intellectual and developmental disabilities.You’ll work in small groups and one-on-one settings, using community locations like grocery stores, libraries, parks, and public transit to teach essential life skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being active, creative, and making a real impact in people’s lives.What You’ll Do

  • Lead engaging life skills workshops in areas like:
    • Grocery shopping and budgeting
    • Public transportation
    • Job readiness and communication
    • Cooking and nutrition
    • Community safety and awareness
  • Transport clients in company vehicles (8-9 passenger vans)
  • Work with co-leaders and community partners to plan and deliver trainings
  • Support participants in reaching their personal goals
  • Document progress and provide feedback to help participants grow
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment
  • Morning shift 4-5 hour day; Monday-Friday

What We’re Looking ForRequired:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with people with disabilities (personal or professional)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license and at least state-minimum car insurance
  • Must be at least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
  • Must possess a clean driving record (no moving violations, at-fault accidents, etc.)
  • Must have moderate smart cell phone and computer skills.
  • Possess a valid certificate of completion of first aid and CPR training
  • Maintain current and valid licenses, certificates, or registrations that may be legally required to provide the service.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or related field
  • Experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring
