Job Description
CSP has exclusively partnered with a food service company in their search for a Director of Operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day business operations while providing strategic and hands-on leadership across human resources functions. The Director of Operations will partner closely with executive leadership to drive operational efficiency, workforce planning, employee engagement, talent acquisition, compliance, and organizational growth. This position supports both operational and corporate teams across multiple locations and is based on-site five days per week in Halethorpe, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of daily business operations across multiple locations and functions
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute operational and workforce strategies that support company growth
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, workforce planning, and talent acquisition initiatives
- Oversee onboarding, training, leadership development, and employee engagement programs
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development matters
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational best practices
- Manage compensation planning, wage administration, and market benchmarking efforts
- Oversee employee benefits administration and vendor relationships
- Support payroll processes, job classifications, wage compliance, and workforce analytics
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Support workplace safety initiatives, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and employee experience
Requirements:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, human resources, or a combination of both
- Experience leading teams within food service, hospitality, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or other operationally driven environments preferred
- Demonstrated experience overseeing HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and compliance
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational and people-focused priorities
- Experience managing multiple locations and diverse employee populations
- Knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and workforce management best practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on, highly visible leadership role
- Occasional travel required
