Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and detail-oriented 5K Event & Logistics Intern to join our team for a 6-week hands-on internship leading up to our annual 5K event on November 14th. This role offers direct, practical experience in large-scale event planning, volunteer coordination, community outreach, and on-site event execution.This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career professionals interested in Event Management, Non-Profit Administration, Sports Marketing, or Public Relations to build their portfolio and gain real-world operations experience.

Key Responsibilities
\n

- Volunteer Recruitment & Management: Assist in recruiting, organizing, and assigning roles to race-day volunteers. Help maintain volunteer communication schedules and check-in rosters.
- Distribution & Logistics: Deliver coaches' boxes, race shirts, and promotional materials to participating schools and community sites prior to the race.
- Site Visits & Content Capture: Visit partner/school sites to grab promotional photos, verify delivery, and assist with pre-event coordination.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist with vendor check-ins, tracking requirements, and organizing event-day logistics schedules.
- Event Day Set-Up & Tear-Down: Serve as an essential team member on race day (Saturday, November 14th) from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, managing race-day setup, operations, volunteer check-in, and post-event breakdown.
- General Task Management: Complete administrative and coordination tasks remotely in collaboration with the event leadership team.

Role Schedule & Commitment
\n
The time commitment is flexible, averaging 5 to 10 hours per week, with hours increasing during the final two weeks as race day approaches.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Mandatory Availability: Must be fully available on-site on Saturday, November 14th, from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Transportation: Must possess a valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation to deliver materials to local schools/sites and travel to the race venue.
- Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, proactive problem-solver, and comfortable working independently.
- Physical Ability: Ability to assist with physical event setup and teardown (lifting boxes, placing signage, setting up tables/tents).
- Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, enthusiastic, and comfortable interacting with volunteers, school contacts, and vendors.
