Legal Secretary – Chicago
A law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to provide administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys in a collaborative office environment. This role requires a proactive, highly organized professional who can work independently, anticipate attorney needs, and maintain strict confidentiality while delivering high-quality work and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage file organization and document production
- Handle e-filing in administrative, state, and federal courts
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal correspondence and documents
- Communicate with clients, courts, and attorneys
- Maintain legal calendars using court rule and calendaring systems
- Coordinate multiple attorney calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Prepare travel and expense reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with court rules and civil procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience as a litigation legal secretary, supporting multiple attorneys
- Experience with state and federal court procedures and e-filing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, timekeeping systems, and document management systems (e.g., iManage or similar)
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
