Iron Oak Technologies – Manager of Technical Operations
Location: Marietta, GA (Onsite/Hybrid)

Key Accountabilities
The Manager of Technical Operations is a senior member of Iron Oak Technologies’ technical leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing infrastructure strategy, internal systems, high-level project execution, and Tier 2/3 escalations. This position combines deep technical acumen with operational leadership to drive results across our data center, security stack, and client environments. The ideal candidate excels at high-impact project execution, mentoring peers, and standardizing proactive support for our growing client base.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Strategic Systems Oversight
Design and maintain resilient and secure systems architecture across client and internal environments.
Oversee infrastructure at Flexential data center and internal systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, ConnectWise, Automate, Veeam, and Duo.
Project and Implementation Leadership
Lead client-facing infrastructure projects including cloud migrations, server upgrades, AD/O365 deployments, and multi-site connectivity.
Own project planning, resource alignment, execution, and stakeholder communication.
Escalation Support & Team Enablement
Serve as final escalation for Tier 2/3 incidents and act as a senior technical resource across teams.
Mentor engineers through advanced troubleshooting, disaster recoveries, and documentation.
Client-Facing Technical Consulting
Participate in audits, roadmap planning, and business-aligned technical discussions with clients.
Deliver executive-level briefings with clear communication and solution design rationale.
Advanced Technical Requirements
- Cloud: Azure, AWS, G Suites, and Hybrid Cloud Architecting
- Networking: Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, UniFi, and their associated functional concepts. (e.g. IPSec tunneling, VPN configuration, routing, and policies)
- Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, and High Availability Clustering
- Security: Endpoint protection, Duo MFA, System Hardening, and Compliance
- Systems: AD, Intune, M365/O365, Exchange, File Services, Group Policy, and Backup/DR Strategies
- Tools: ConnectWise Manage & Automate, Veeam, IT Glue, SentinelOne
- Scripting: PowerShell automation for Provisioning, Monitoring, and Compliance
Experience & Education
- 10+ years of technical IT experience, including 5+ years in an MSP or multi-client setting.
- 3+ years in a technical team leadership or senior escalation role.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, and/or CompTIA (Security+, Server+, Networking+) strongly welcomed.
