Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM–4:00 PM

Tradeco Construction Staffing is hiring four experienced Underground Utility Pipelayers for a long-term construction project in Thonotosassa, FL.

We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with hands-on experience installing underground utility piping. Qualified candidates should understand pipe installation, trench preparation, alignment, bedding, and maintaining proper line and grade.

Job Responsibilities

Install underground utility pipe according to project plans and specifications.
Prepare trenches, trench bottoms, and pipe bedding.
Assist with pipe placement, alignment, and joint connections.
Maintain proper line, grade, elevations, and slopes.
Work alongside foremen, excavator operators, and other crew members.
Use laser levels, grade stakes, and measuring equipment.
Handle pipe, fittings, tools, and construction materials.
Assist with backfill operations and maintaining a clean work area.
Follow all excavation, trench safety, and jobsite safety procedures.
Work safely around heavy equipment and excavation operations.

Qualifications

3+ years of underground utility pipelaying experience preferred.
Experience installing storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and/or water mains.
Familiarity with PVC, reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), ductile iron, and/or HDPE.
Ability to understand line and grade.
Experience working with trench boxes and excavation equipment.
Ability to read utility plans and understand pipe elevations.
Experience using laser levels and grade equipment is a plus.
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Reliable transportation to the jobsite.
Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday–Friday.
Hours: 6:45 AM–4:00 PM.
Duration: 6+ months.
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire.
Permanent Hire Opportunity: After 600 hours, the customer has the opportunity to hire you directly.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Background check required.
Drug screening required.
Must have appropriate construction PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, high-visibility vest, and steel-toe boots.
