Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a background in personal injury law and third-party liability litigation, with the ability to manage cases from intake through trial preparation. This role requires a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can provide strong support to attorneys while ensuring cases move forward efficiently.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of personal injury and third-party litigation cases.
  • Order and follow up on requests for medical records and bills.
  • Prepare medical bill evaluations on injury cases.
  • Assist attorney with disbursement of funds once case settles.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and correspondence.
  • Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and paper.
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and court personnel.
  • Manage deadlines, court dates, and attorney calendars.
  • Prepare case summaries, medical chronologies, and trial notebooks.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Perform legal research as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience in personal injury litigation and third-party liability cases.
  • Strong knowledge of court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience preparing cases for trial.
  • Familiarity with medical record review and summarization.
