POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mission Advancement Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the YMCA's fundraising initiatives, special events, and board relations. This part-time position combines development activities with event coordination and board support to help advance the organization's mission and financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising (60%)
· Assist in planning and implementing Annual Support Campaign 2026
· Support donor stewardship activities including thank you letters, donor recognition, and relationship maintenance
· Research and identify potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors
· Serve on grants committees (Building Future Work Force, Connected Communities)
· Clean/scrub Daxko database for more accurate donor records
· Manage text-to-give platform and campaigns
· Conduct outreach calls to past donors for re-engagement
· Work with marketing team to update and refresh giving materials
· Handle donation collections and related communications
· Prepare fundraising reports and track campaign metrics
· Manage staff T-shirts and internal fundraising initiatives
· Maintain Triangle Society database and member management
· Oversee Endowment database and management activities
Event Planning & Coordination (30%)
· Assist with planning and executing special events including annual galas, community fundraisers, and donor appreciation events
· Coordinate event logistics including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and vendor management
· Provide event project management support
· Manage event registration systems and attendee communications
· Support community outreach and Y on the Fly (YOTF) events
Board Management (10%)
· Provide administrative support to CEO
· Assist with board meeting preparation and materials
· Support board committee activities and communications
· Maintain board records and documentation
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
· Experience with donor management systems (preferred)
· Background in grant writing
· Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship
· Previous experience working with volunteers
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Must be wiling to work weekends and evenings as needed.
· Must be able to attend and complete all the required training.
· CPR/AED/O2 training certifications and Child Abuses Prevention, Understanding Your Biases, Anti-Harassment, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazard Communication Awareness, and Slips, Trips, and Falls trainings required.
