About Us:

The Brick BJJ is dedicated to providing high-quality martial arts instruction in a safe, welcoming, and community-driven environment. We focus on building discipline, confidence, and strong technical foundations for students of all ages—from young children stepping onto the mats for the first time to adults looking to hone their skills.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and skilled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for teaching. You will play a key role in running our scheduled youth and adult classes, ensuring a positive experience for all members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruction: Lead and instruct scheduled BJJ classes for youth and adult practitioners, tailoring teaching styles to different age groups and skill levels.
• Curriculum Delivery: Teach fundamental and advanced techniques, supervise sparring/rolling sessions, and ensure proper form and safety protocols are maintained at all times.
• Youth Engagement: Create a fun, structured, and engaging environment for our kids' programs, helping younger students build confidence and martial arts discipline.
• Community & Culture: Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere on and off the mats that aligns with the values of The Brick BJJ.
• Mat Management: Assist with keeping the training area safe, organized, and clean before and after classes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Rank: Purple Belt or higher in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu preferred (highly experienced Blue Belts with strong teaching backgrounds may be considered).
• Teaching Experience: Prior experience coaching or assisting with BJJ instruction is highly preferred.
• Kids' Coaching: Experience working with children (in martial arts, youth sports, or education) is a major plus.
• Attributes: Dependable, punctual, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Background Check: Ability to pass a standard background check (required for working with youth programs).
