We are seeking a Contracts Manager to work with clients and subcontractors on mid to large-scale commercial construction projects throughout the State of Florida. The new Manager will draft and manage the contracts and subcontracts for a wide range of institutional clients, including colleges, universities, K-12 districts, municipalities, healthcare systems and more. This is an in-person position.
As a Contracts Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership by helping them navigate complex agreements and make informed business decisions. You'll use your communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to review contracts, guide negotiations, and identify risks contributing to the successful delivery of design-build, construction manager at risk (CMAR), and Public-Private Partnership (P3) related construction projects.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Advising project teams involved in design-build, CMAR, and P3-related projects as to appropriate contractual terms in a variety of settings.
- Reviewing RFPs and the associated contracts, provide contract risk assessments including proposed contract changes and exceptions, and suggest risk mitigation measures.
- Being responsible to draft, review, and negotiate prime contracts, and subcontracts.
- Maintaining close working relationships with applicable leadership team, business development, preconstruction teams, other members of the legal department
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years working as a contracts manager or similar role
- Substantial knowledge and experience with design build projects, CMAR, P3 development, construction, and financing, and standard contract forms (such as DBIA, AIA, ConsensusDocs, and EJCDC),
- Experience building strong relationships with project teams and influencing decisions
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related experience
- Senior level experience negotiating contracts with a pragmatic, flexible negotiation style based on sound business acumen
