Our goal is to help you and your family overcome addiction in the long term. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to add to our dynamic team.
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.). Perform general cleaning, lawn maintenance and other tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in a maintenance role and outstanding organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Must have plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
- Must have electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity
- Must have carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
- Must be able to perform groundskeeping duties around the facility lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
- Must have Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner
- Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner, and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Moves furniture, boxes, equipment and supplies
- Assist other departments moving equipment and supplies
- Water all trees, plants and grass
- Collect trash throughout yard
- Clean parking lot, steps, patios, dumpster areas and other areas at the facility
- Clean carpets
- Facility painting
- Light electrical and plumbing work
- Do minor appliance repair & maintenance
- Regular attendance
Education & Experience
- High school diploma/GED required
- 1-3 years of experience preferred+
- Ability to work independently or on a team, with minimal supervision while staying highly motivated
- Must have outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret written information
Physical Requirements
- Must have a valid State Driver's License and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable.)
- Must be able to walk for approximately five (5) miles per eight (8) hr. shift.
- Must be able to climb ladders up to 24 ft. high.
- Must be physically agile (bending, stooping, and climbing.)
- Must be able to safely run and control powered equipment i.e. power saws, drills, grinders, push mowers, weed eaters and tractors.
- Must be able to lift approximately 100 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to move furniture weighing up to 200-300 lbs. with the assistance of dollies and one other Environmental Services person.
- If recovering, two (2) years of continuous verifiable sobriety
