JOB SUMMARY:
The Administrator is a professional, currently licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. She/he is responsible for the
quality of care and resident outcome for the residents. The Administrator will ensure the delivery of quality care to the
residents of Miller Nursing Home. The Administrator assures that the facility operations meet or exceed the local,
state, federal and corporate Policies and procedures. The Administrator also plays an interactive role with Miller County
Hospital staff to ensure acute care/swing bed patients identified as potential admissions to Miller Nursing Home
receive the continuity of care required for a successful transition of care from the acute/swing bed setting to the long
term care setting.
The Administrator recognizes that each employee and resident is an individual to be treated with dignity and respect and is also committed to being responsive to the needs of employee, residents, resident/resident’s family or significant other, and the community. The Administrator participates in the facility Quality Assessment/Improvement Program to ensure the continuous improvement of services to meet the need and expectation of the adult, and geriatric patients/residents, physicians, employees and the community. Upon employment, and yearly thereafter, the Administrator will read and discuss with the Chief Executive Officer, all duties and standards of performance.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
· Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
· Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
GENERAL SKILLS:
· Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Additional languages preferred.
· Strong written and verbal skills.
· Basic Computer Skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
· May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
· May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
· May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
· Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
· May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS & DEMANDS:
· Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.
· Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.
· Have good manual dexterity.
· Have good eye-hand foot coordination.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
· Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking.
· Frequently within shift (34-66%): Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/carry up to 20lbs, Lift/carry greater than 20 lbs. with assistance.
· Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry greater than 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
· The administrator is responsible for the direct and indirect operation of the facility. He/She is also responsible for the supervision of all staff directly or indirectly thru the chain of command. The position requires knowledge of both healthcare standards, local, state, federal and corporate policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Written, telephone, and manual dexterity skills are required for the position.
· Ensures that Resident Rights are respected at all times.
· Coordinates with the DON to ensure abuse reporting is accurate and timely.
· Ensures the Delivery of quality care by the nursing staff.
· Screens referral information timely and effectively.
· Coordinates state surveys and maintains the survey manual.
· Ensures staffing meets state regulations and resident needs.
· Ensures that the Grievance Procedure is followed and is managed effectively.
· Develops, coordinates and participates in Public Relations to ensure positive promotion of the facility in recruitment of residents and in resident satisfaction levels.
· Ensures that the facility is organized, attractive, and clean at all times.
· Ensures that the facility has an effective Safety Program and works in collaboration with the Safety Officer in the development and maintenance of the Disaster Plan and Agreements.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Follows Code of Conduct policy.
· Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
· Completes annual educational requirements.
· Maintains regulatory requirements.
· Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
· Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
· Wears identification when on duty; uses computerized time clock system correctly.
· Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.
· Attends annual review and/or skills fair and department in-services, as scheduled.
· Attempts to end conversations and other interactions in a positive manner; leaves others with a good impression of the Hospital Authority of Miller County and its employees.
· Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
· Communicates the mission statement of the organization.

OTHER:
· Responsibility to Report: It is the responsibility of every employee of HAMC to comply with federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as, HAMC Policies and Procedures. · It is the responsibility of the manager/supervisor to authorize only the minimum necessary security access to his/her subordinates. Minimum necessary access limits the use of patient information within the treatment facility to that which is necessary to perform their duties. It is also the responsibility of the manager/supervisor to revoke such access upon termination and/or resignation.

Requirements:
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Education – Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
· Minimum 3 years Long Term Care Experience
· Current Georgia Nursing Home Administrator’s License
