Step into a dynamic contract position supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher. This rewarding onsite role in the Bath/Hornell area offers you the opportunity to make a real impact from early September through early December, providing essential coverage in an ED classroom setting. Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Teaching License with high school endorsement
- Current certification to instruct in an ED classroom setting
- Established background in Special Education, ideally at the high school level
- Strong classroom management skills and experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs
- Excellent communication abilities and collaborative mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality, individualized instruction to meet IEP goals for students with emotional disabilities
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes learning and respect
- Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and administration to best serve students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including assessments, progress monitoring, and required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of student plans
Role Highlights:
- Contract duration of 6 to 12 weeks, beginning September 8th, 2026, and concluding no later than December 4th, 2026
- Onsite classroom setting with a 32.5 hour work week
- Work closely with a dedicated team focused on student achievement and success
