Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of work efficiently. This role involves providing administrative and clerical support to multiple attorneys, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of legal documents and correspondence.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage legal documents, including drafting letters and form templates using Law Manager.
• Review and proofread legal correspondence for accuracy, grammar, and formatting before sending out.
• Coordinate the creation and distribution of legal documents, ensuring all materials meet required standards.
• Support 3-4 attorneys simultaneously by managing schedules, correspondence, and document organization.
• Maintain and organize legal files and records using NetDocs and other document management systems.
• Collaborate with attorneys to draft special letters and ensure they are error-free and ready for dispatch.
• Handle a high volume of administrative tasks with precision and efficiency.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools to create, edit, and manage documents and reports.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and deadlines for all assigned tasks.• Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a legal environment. • Strong familiarity with legal terminology and document formatting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Experience with legal software such as Law Manager and NetDocs is highly preferred. • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and reviewing legal documents. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
The pay range for this position is $25 to $30. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
