Our need is for a BSC Store Manager to join our AbilityOne Base Supply Center at our Joint Base Andrews, MD location. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a close-knit group, in a team based environment.
Essential Position Functions:
(Other Duties As Assigned)
- Supervise, train, and assist associates in customer service, store maintenance, and product promotions.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for associates and promotions centered on holiday sales and other cycles.
- Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line, and service within the store.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement purchasing plans, and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
- Implement cross-training of associates and retail supervisors to always maintain productivity.
- Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.
- Ensure the store always remains clean and presentable.
- Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide outstanding customer service.
- Develop in-store promotions to increase sales and/or introduce new products and services.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement in the store; designs and implements training, strategies, goals, and other resources to maximize productivity and morale.
- Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas for potential clients.
- Contacting potential clients to establish a business relationship and meet with them.
- Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods.
- Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
- Network with installation command, government agencies and organizations; Federal, State of Maryland, and local jurisdiction, business, and community leaders.
- Train junior associates to improve sales goals and meet expectations
- Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a security clearance.
- Must be proficient in keyboards, computers, and inventory control systems.
- Must operate a Point-of-Sale System.
- Proficient in the use of Counterpoint, Point of Sale System...but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and multitask constantly shifting priorities
- Must be very organized, detailed and a team player...must be willing to adapt to change
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess technical skills, analytical ability, sound judgment, planning, and organizing expertise.
- May routinely lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with 0 points.
