LOCATION: Sumter, SC
Overview:
As the Technical Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and leadership of the plant's maintenance function, overseeing both the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Supervisors. Your primary focus is to maximize equipment reliability and uptime through effective planning, predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and robust technical support to meet the demanding requirements of our NdFeB magnet production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Strategy & Leadership:
- Set the strategic vision and prioritize maintenance activities across the entire facility to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Supervisors.
- Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, controlling spending on parts, labor, and external service contracts.
- Reliability & Systems:
- Drive the maturity of the plant's preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) programs, leveraging CMMS data to identify critical equipment and potential failure modes.
- Oversee the continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate work order tracking, historical data analysis, and spare parts inventory management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the primary technical interface between Maintenance, Engineering, and Production leadership to align repair priorities with production schedules and capital projects.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with EHS regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and internal safety standards.
- Technical Expertise & Escalation:
- Serve as the final point of escalation for complex, systemic equipment failures, leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement permanent, long-term solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CMRP - Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) is highly desirable.
Experience Level:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in maintenance or reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years in a management role, supervising maintenance supervisors or cross-functional technical teams.
