Engineer – Ammunition Systems
Position Summary
The Engineer – Ammunition Systems supports the design, development, testing, and production support of ammunition products and components. This role contributes technical analysis, documentation, and engineering support activities to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Participation in engineering tasks supporting product lifecycle activities including development, testing, manufacturing support, and documentation management.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Engineering Analysis
- Support design and development of ammunition equipment, components and assemblies.
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis related to mechanical performance, manufacturability, and product reliability.
- Prepare and update engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
Testing & Product Validation
- Support engineering test planning and execution activities.
- Assist with test setup, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Document test results and assist in identifying performance issues.
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations to resolve routine technical issues.
- Assist in evaluating production challenges and implementing corrective actions.
- Support engineering change requests and documentation updates.
Documentation & Configuration Control
- Maintain engineering records, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure updates to technical data packages are properly documented and controlled.
- Assist with configuration tracking and change implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Quality, Operations, Safety, and Program Management teams to support product lifecycle activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and production efficiency.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
Experience
2–5 years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing support, or testing environments.
Exposure to ammunition, energetics, or defense-related systems is preferred.
