Job DescriptionPosition Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services, the Janitorial Technician (Healthcare) is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the facility. This role supports patient care by ensuring all clinical and non-clinical areas meet established cleanliness and safety standards.
This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
Key ResponsibilitiesLinen Services

Collect dirty laundry from patient care areas and designated locations

Distribute clean linens to departments as needed

Ensure linens for on-campus housing are returned to the correct location
Cleaning & Sanitation
-
Clean and sanitize assigned areas according to established guidelines and schedules
-
Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, emergency department, imaging areas, laboratories, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, and other designated areas

Wipe down equipment using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning chemicals
-
Vacuum carpets, dust surfaces, and clean furniture

Make beds, empty trash, and restock supplies as needed

Maintain cleanliness in on-campus housing areas when assigned

Check and refill dispensers such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer
Equipment & Inventory

Perform daily inventory of supplies and equipment
-
Inspect equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues
-
Maintain and restock housekeeping cart before each shift
-
Ensure cleaning carts and chemicals are secured when not in direct supervision

Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Communicate effectively with team members and other departments

Maintain respectful and professional relationships with patients, staff, and visitors

Complete all required annual education and training on time
Qualifications
-
Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred but not required

Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Basic familiarity with computers and standard workplace equipment
Physical Requirements

Ability to perform light physical work including lifting up to 25 pounds

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
