Dimensional Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing – Shelby Township, Michigan
Project Based – 4 Months or Longer
An international automotive manufacturing company with a facility in the Shelby Township, Michigan area is currently seeking several experienced Dimensional Engineers for a 4-month project that could lead to a long-term opportunity with their growing global engineering team.
Dimensional Engineers compensation is anticipated to start between $40 to $50 an hour and based on each candidate’s experience and education. Qualified Dimensional Engineers will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years of experience with GD&T, dimensional engineering, dimensional management, or dimensional analysis in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using NX and/or CATIA V5/V6 for 2D and 3D GD&T applications is required.
- Experience with dimensional stack-ups, tolerance analysis, CMM report interpretation, dimensional approvals, and Gage R&R.
- Experience supporting gage design, development, review, and approval processes.
- Experience with automotive sheet metal, frame building, body structures, or similar automotive manufacturing applications is required.
- Knowledge of PMI (product manufacturing information) and experience with Teamcenter is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills with the ability to work directly with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and metrology groups.
- A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline is a benefit but not essential. Equivalent automotive dimensional engineering, GD&T, CAD, and manufacturing experience will be strongly considered.
- Must be able to work in the United States (no H-1 sponsorship or student visas considered).
- Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks, including background check, drug screen, references, etc.
