Duration: 6 Months
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Epic Application Analyst / Epic Certified BI Developer to support a major healthcare system Go-Live implementation project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Epic EMR systems, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau and Power BI.
This role will focus on developing advanced Epic reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytics tools to support clinical and revenue cycle operations. The analyst will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to translate data and reporting needs into actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesEpic Reporting & Application Support

Work closely with clinical and operational teams to gather reporting and analytics requirements.

Develop Epic reporting templates using Reporting Workbench (RWB) administration tools.

Create and manage:

Networked criteria
-
Dynamic parameters
-
Custom logic and advanced criteria
-
New PAF columns and networked columns
-

Develop advanced report components using properties and extensions.
-
Build summary views including graphs, functions, and subgroup analyses.
-
Create and manage report explorations, filters, sorting, and saved report views.
-
Develop Radar dashboards and configure components, metrics, and resources.
-
Configure parameter passing and filtering between reports and dashboard components.
-
Create and manage SQL metrics and perform data backfills.
-
Develop and manage SlicerDicer sessions, including:
-
Populations
-
Slices
-
Measures
-
Filters
-
-
Demonstrate strong knowledge of Epic domain configurations and workflows.
Data Visualization & Business Intelligence
-
Design and develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
-
Translate business data into clear analytical insights through effective data storytelling.
-
Apply UX and cognitive load principles to dashboard design for improved usability.
-
Use the appropriate charting and visualization techniques based on the analytical use case.
-
Implement security frameworks and role-based access controls for dashboards and reports.
Business Analysis & System Design
-
Analyze and document business and clinical workflows and reporting requirements.
-
Gather information from stakeholders to create:

Functional specifications

Technical documentation
-
Data flow diagrams

Process models and system requirements
-

Translate complex clinical and operational requirements into technical solutions.

Define system interfaces, constraints, and quality requirements.

Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies during requirements gathering and solution design.
Project Collaboration & Implementation

Collaborate with project managers and development teams to ensure project milestones are met.
-
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
-
Participate in unit acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate system deployments.
-
Develop test plans, release documentation, user guides, and training materials.
-
Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting for application issues.

Deliver presentations and project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Leadership & Mentorship

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and project team members.
-
Review deliverables and ensure adherence to quality and documentation standards.

Support training initiatives and process improvement programs across project teams.

Assist in identifying opportunities for workflow optimization and reporting improvements.

Required Qualifications
Certifications

Epic Certification in a Clinical or Revenue Cycle application (Required)

Certifications in both Clinical and Revenue Cycle modules preferred
Technical Skills

Experience with Epic Reporting Workbench (RWB) and Radar Dashboards

Experience using SlicerDicer analytics tools
-
Strong experience with Tableau or Power BI
-
Experience designing secure reporting and dashboard frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
-
Clinical or healthcare background
-
Experience supporting Epic Go-Live implementations
-
Participation in at least two full Epic implementation lifecycles

Strong knowledge of healthcare workflows and clinical systems
Education
One of the following is required:
-
Master’s Degree or advanced clinical degree and 2 years of relevant experience, OR
-
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant experience, OR
-
Equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
Experience

2–5+ years of experience with Epic EMR systems and/or clinical applications
-
Experience supporting enterprise healthcare systems and reporting environments preferred
