Job Title: Clinical Contracts Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Clinical Contracts Specialist to manage contracts with CRO partners, sites, and vendors. This role involves drafting, negotiating, and managing various agreements to support clinical development and R&D activities under the supervision of attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of agreements, including clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting and services agreements, research agreements, and material transfer agreements.
- Assist with contract interpretation, compliance questions, and issue resolution under the supervision of attorneys.
- Identify and assess legal and business risks associated with clinical and R&D contracts, communicating these risks clearly to attorneys and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal clients, such as Clinical Operations, Research, Finance, and Procurement, to support contracting objectives and timelines.
- Maintain contract records, track contract status, and support contract lifecycle management processes.
- Handle miscellaneous legal and administrative tasks as needed in support of the Legal Department.
- Provide general support to in-house attorneys on clinical, R&D, and related contracting matters.
Essential Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Experience in writing, drafting, and negotiating clinical trial agreements both domestically and globally.
- Experience managing contracts with CRO partners, sites, and vendors.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Thorough understanding of the contract management process, including tracking, negotiation, approval, and signature processes.
- Working knowledge of the drug discovery and development process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in a related discipline with 10 years of related experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and across various functional groups and management levels.
- Knowledge of paralegal support tasks, particularly in intellectual property or corporate matters, preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Work Environment
The position offers a dynamic work environment with some flexibility in working hours. The role requires strong computer skills and effective communication across various functional groups.
Onsite 5 days a week in Alameda
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Alameda, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
