Job Description
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automated systems to support efficient and uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and process optimization.
Organizational Relationship:
This position reports directly to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines (e.g., Engel, Milacron, etc..) and automation equipment (e.g., robotics, conveyors, pick-and-place systems).
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues in production equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary systems including dryers, chillers, mold temperature controllers, and vacuum systems.
- Support mold changes and setups by ensuring proper alignment and function of mechanical and automated systems.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery or automation upgrades.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring equipment issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance within a plastic injection molding environment.
- Strong working knowledge of injection molding machinery and associated automation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with PLCs, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, lift, move and/or carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to frequently reach overhead.
- Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.
Working Conditions
- Requires wearing PPE (Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cutting Glove and sleeve).
- Primarily on the manufacturing floor; frequent standing, climbing, and lifting required.
