What You'll Do

As an Optician, you'll guide patients through the entire eyewear experience—from helping them select frames and lenses to making sure their finished eyewear fits properly and meets their needs.

Patient Care & Eyewear Selection

  • Greet patients promptly and provide a welcoming, professional experience
  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, preferences, and budget
  • Explain lens options, materials, coatings, and eyewear benefits in clear, easy-to-understand terms
  • Educate patients on available lens technologies and options
  • Guide patients through the eyewear purchasing process
  • Ensure patient satisfaction from the initial consultation through final eyewear delivery
  • Perform eyewear adjustments and troubleshooting
  • Address patient questions and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Build relationships that encourage patients to return for future eyewear needs

Sales & Patient Education

We're looking for an Optician who can combine excellent patient care with strong sales performance.

You'll:

  • Work toward established daily and weekly sales goals
  • Educate patients about premium lens options
  • Discuss multiple-pair eyewear benefits when appropriate
  • Recommend upgrades based on the patient's prescription, lifestyle, and individual needs
  • Help patients understand the value of different frame and lens options
  • Support office promotions and initiatives
  • Maintain consistent productivity and sales performance

Our approach is to sell through education, service, and trust—not pressure.

Inventory & Merchandising

You'll help keep our optical area organized, attractive, and ready for patients.

  • Maintain clean and visually appealing frame displays
  • Properly handle and care for frames and lenses
  • Monitor frame inventory
  • Report shortages, damaged merchandise, and inventory concerns

Teamwork & Professional Development

Our Optician works closely with doctors, managers, and other members of the patient-care team.

You'll be expected to:

  • Communicate effectively with doctors and coworkers
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Work collaboratively to provide an excellent patient experience
  • Participate in training and professional development
  • Stay current on eyewear products, lens technology, and industry trends
  • Help guide and support new team members
  • Step in and assist the team when needed

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Previous optician, optical sales, or eyewear dispensing experience
  • Knowledge of frames, lenses, coatings, and eyewear options
  • Excellent patient-service and communication skills
  • Ability to explain optical products clearly and confidently
  • Strong sales skills with a patient-first approach
  • Confidence recommending appropriate lens options and upgrades
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy optical environment
  • Dependable and professional work habits
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in helping patients find eyewear that fits their vision needs, lifestyle, and budget
