Job purpose
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the successful operations of Facilities Maintenance and Groundskeepers.
Duties and responsibilities
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow team members.
- Supervise, assign jobs, and ensure timely completion of projects by maintenance technicians.
- Perform routine field inspections on-site and at off-site locations.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain logbooks as required.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of applicable fire, health, safety, and environmental standards as well as relevant state, local, and national codes.
- React in a timely manner to emergency situations.
- Coordinate maintenance and modification projects with appropriated department to ensure minimal guest interruption.
- To oversee the supervision of maintenance and repair at company facilities and equipment.
- In the absence of an EVS Supervisor, will perform the duties of that position and supervise the EVS staff.
- Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize, and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
- Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and team members as appropriate.
- Promote positive public/team member relations at all times.
- Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Safeguard the confidential information of all team members, department, and company records.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade school certificate preferred.
- Ability to obtain a gaming license.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in commercial industrial facilities maintenance preferred.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a casino environment preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
- Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience.
