Special Education Teacher Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with disabilities
-
Develop and implement instruction aligned with students' IEP goals
-
Adapt lessons, curriculum, and instructional materials to meet individual student needs

Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning

Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families

Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development

Maintain compliance with school policies and special education requirements
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
-
Valid Georgia Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification
-
Previous experience working with elementary students preferred

Experience working with students with disabilities preferred

Strong classroom management and communication skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff

Passion for helping students achieve their academic and personal goals
