Role Description The Residential Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time hybrid role based in Cypress, TX, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding clients through the application and approval process, and providing clear explanations of loan options, rates, and terms. Daily activities include prospecting and developing new business, conducting client consultations, collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, and coordinating with underwriters, processors, and closing agents to ensure timely and accurate closings. The Loan Officer will monitor pipeline status, maintain detailed records within the loan origination system, and ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations. The role also involves building relationships with real estate professionals and community partners to generate referrals and promote C & T Mortgage, Inc’s services.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated residential mortgage lending experience, including loan origination, client consultation, and file management.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products (conventional, FHA, VA, USDA), underwriting guidelines, and applicable federal and Texas state regulations.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and basic office software; ability to manage documentation, data entry, and pipeline tracking accurately.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex loan information in a clear, accessible manner.
- Proven sales, networking, and relationship-building abilities, including experience generating leads and working with real estate and community partners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- NMLS licensure and eligibility to originate mortgages in Texas; additional state licenses are a plus.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
