Automotive Technician – Hyundai / Kia Experience Required ⚡
Seeking a hands-on Automotive Technician with direct Hyundai and/or Kia dealership experience to support vehicle compliance, emissions testing preparation, certification activities, and fleet readiness for regulatory programs. This role is ideal for technicians familiar with Hyundai/Kia diagnostic platforms, emissions systems, and hybrid/EV architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Certification & Emissions Support
- Perform vehicle inspections on Hyundai/Kia platforms for certification and regulatory readiness
- Prepare vehicles for emissions laboratory testing
- Install/remove emission components (R&R) on Hyundai/Kia vehicles
- Support vehicle instrumentation setup for emissions testing programs
- Assist with EPA delivery vehicle preparation and logistics
- Support C/D audit activities and regulatory compliance programs
- Assist with high-altitude and Chino testing support activities
Vehicle Preparation & Fleet Support
- Maintain and support IUVP loaner fleet (Hyundai/Kia vehicles preferred)
- Prepare vehicles for shipment to test facilities
- Support vehicle readiness for test trips and compliance programs
- Perform minor fabrication work as required for test setups
- Conduct routine mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Support vehicle inspection readiness for certification programs
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of automotive technician experience
- Direct Hyundai or Kia dealership service experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with:

- Hyundai/Kia diagnostic tools
- Emissions-related systems
- Powertrain service procedures
- Experience preparing vehicles for lab testing, certification, or compliance programs
- Ability to independently complete technician-level assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Good organizational and time-management abilities
Preferred Qualifications ⭐
- ASE Certification or State of Michigan Automotive Certification
- Experience supporting OEM certification or emissions programs
- Familiarity with Hyundai/Kia hybrid and electric vehicles
- Experience supporting regulatory vehicle testing environments
- Prior experience supporting EPA-related vehicle programs
- Previous dealership service lane experience with Hyundai/Kia platforms
