Salary: $110,000-$120,000/year

Fennemore is seeking an experienced full-time TRUSTS & ESTATES PARALEGAL to support our Oakland, CA office. The paralegal is responsible for supporting multiple attorneys in Trusts, Estates & Wealth Preservation. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of related experience.


Responsibilities

  • Assisting attorneys with the preparation of fiduciary, gift and estate tax returns, and fiduciary accountings
  • Assisting attorneys with the analysis and administration of trust and estate accounts, including disbursements, bill paying, and bank account reconciliations, management of assets, collections, distributions, and asset valuations
  • Preparation of probate documents, including accounting reports, asset inventories, petitions and court orders
  • Initiating and responding to correspondence and phone calls from clients, government agencies, and other parties regarding trusts and estates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 5+ years of experience in trust and estate administration; or
  • A postgraduate degree in accounting, and/or CPA certification, with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in trust and estate administration
  • Extensive knowledge of estate planning and the administration of trust and probate estates is recommended
  • Proficiency in the common collection of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with estate planning and tax preparation software is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to manage several projects to completion on a deadline
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the firm and externally with clients and other professional advisors, as needed
