Job Title: Senior Web Developer 3 (Hybrid – On-Site & Telework)
Location: United States (80–100% Remote, occasional on-site as required)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Web Developer 3 to design intuitive, user-centered digital experiences for TEA applications and websites. This role plays a pivotal part in improving educational technology integration, enabling parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders to focus on student success.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned design professional with a strong portfolio, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while driving strategic alignment between technology solutions and user needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee UX/UI design to ensure decisions are grounded in user research, aligned with agency standards, and follow industry best practices.
- Translate user research into actionable deliverables such as user stories, requirements, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Conduct usability testing and outreach to validate designs and ensure solutions meet end-user needs.
- Collaborate with product teams, senior leadership, developers, and designers to create effective, user-friendly solutions.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to inform product roadmaps and design strategies.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 8+ years in software product development, digital design, UX/UI, or related fields.
- 8+ years designing mockups/wireframes aligned with UX best practices.
- 8+ years conducting user and usability research.
- 5+ years with strong writing, organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- 4+ years leading large-scale UX/UI initiatives.
- 4+ years developing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma or similar tools.
- 3+ years ensuring designs and websites meet federal accessibility guidelines.
- 1+ year with a professional portfolio showcasing user research, design work, and usability studies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years using Atlassian Jira or similar issue tracking software.
- 2+ years of experience working with TEA or other state/local education agencies.
Other Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check per Texas law.

Work Environment
