About the Role:
Complete Orthopedic Services Inc. is looking for a skilled and compassionate Orthotic Fitter to join our team in East Meadow, NY, Flushing, NY, Bronx, NY. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and fit patients with custom and prefabricated orthotic devices based on physician prescriptions
- Measure, fabricate, and modify orthoses to ensure proper fit, function, and patient comfort
- Educate patients on the proper use, care, and maintenance of orthotic devices
- Document patient assessments, fittings, and follow-up care accurately in patient records
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain inventory of orthotic supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed
- Ensure compliance with insurance billing requirements and obtain necessary authorizations
Requirements:
- ABC or BOC certification as an Orthotic Fitter (OTR/L or CFo preferred)
- Prior experience in orthotics fitting, durable medical equipment (DME), or a related healthcare field
- Strong knowledge of lower and upper extremity orthoses, bracing, and support devices
- Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret physician prescriptions and clinical documentation
- Familiarity with insurance billing, coding, and prior authorization processes
