Position Title:Warranty Field Manager

Department:Warranty Department

Reports To: Production


Position Overview:

It is important for a Warranty Field Manager to establish good relationships with homeowners in assigned communities and to ensure all warranty related concerns are addressed within a new homeowners one year warranty period. The warranty timeframe begins when a new homeowner closes and takes possession of the house. The warranty timeframe ends at the one-year anniversary of the closing date.

A Warranty Field Manager is trained and skilled to problem solve, to implement solutions, or to coordinate with vendors, for remediation of warranty issues in a timely and effective manner. A Warranty Field Manager must be able to discern between warranty related defects or failures and issues that are resolved by basic home maintenance. If a vendor is needed to remedy the warranty issues, the Warranty Field Manager creates work orders and communicates with vendors to ensure timely completion of assigned work orders.

A Warranty Field Manager should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills,

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills,
  • Proficiency and training to handle warranty and basic maintenance concerns.


Responsibilities:

The Warranty Field Manager must be able to perform, with reasonable accommodations, the following essential functions:

  • Working directly with homeowners in assigned communities to ensure all warranty concerns are addressed in a timely manner for the first year after closing on the house.
  • Working with vendor partners in assigned communities to ensure timely completion of assigned work orders to address specific warranty issues.
  • Notifying the Director of Warranty of homeowner or vendor partner issues that are out the norm or have extensive warranty related concerns.
  • Working with Superintendents and Construction Project Managers to address production concerns within assigned communities.
  • Maintenance and repair of model homes and Design Studio as needed.


Education Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree in construction, preferred but not required.
  • Certifications in construction, preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience and responsibilities in construction or maintenance, required.


Other Required Qualifications:

  • Availability via cell phone
  • Access to home internet
  • Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn different software applications
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic tools and power tools
  • Valid Drivers License


This position primarily involves a 40-hour week, with rotating evening and weekend on-call schedules.

A Warranty Field Manager will travel between Lincoln and Omaha, as well as surrounding towns, but will have an office in the Legacy Homes Office in La Vista.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
