Job Description

Job DescriptionDescription:

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Technology Trainer owns adoption of the systems and processes Briefly rolls out across its member firms — Rimon, Scale, Caravel and OGC. As four firms consolidate onto a shared platform, the difference between a rollout that sticks and one that stalls is rarely the technology; it is whether the people using it understand the new way of working and choose to follow it.
  • Day to day, the role writes the standard operating procedures behind each rolled-out tool and process, builds and delivers the training that supports every go-live, and runs the change management work that carries a firm from announcement through sustained use. The position sits within the Transformation Management Office, reports to the VP of Transformation, and works closely with the Director of Platform Architecture, the Director of Platform Data Operations, the Director of Finance Integration, and operations and administrative leadership at each firm. The ideal candidate has trained professional staff on new systems before, writes clearly enough that procedures are actually followed, and is comfortable being the person a skeptical attorney complains to.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write and maintain the standard operating procedures for every system and process the platform rolls out, covering both the steps and the reasoning behind them.
  • Maintain a single current library of standard operating procedures, quick reference guides and training materials accessible to staff at every firm.
  • Build role-based training curricula differentiated for attorneys, paralegals, billing and finance staff, administrators and firm leadership.
  • Deliver training in the formats each firm will actually use, including live sessions, recorded modules, floor support during go-live, and one-to-one coaching for high-resistance users.
  • Partner with the Director of Platform Data Operations so that training materials reflect the shared data taxonomy and staff code records correctly at the point of entry.
  • Partner with the Director of Platform Architecture on each firm migration to build training and support plans timed to cutover.
  • Develop and execute change management plans for each rollout, including stakeholder mapping, communications, readiness assessment and post-go-live reinforcement.
  • Identify sources of resistance early and work with firm leadership to address them before go-live rather than after.
  • Measure adoption following every rollout, tracking usage, error rates and support volume, and report results to the Transformation Management Office.
  • Lead targeted remediation where adoption lags, including refresher training, revision of procedures and recommendations for process or configuration change.
  • Deliver technology onboarding for new staff across all firms so that new hires start on the platform standard rather than learning local workarounds.
  • Capture recurring questions and failure points from training and support and feed them back to the platform team as product and process improvements.
  • Support the training and adoption components of firm onboarding as additional firms join the platform.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in technology training, learning and development, or change management, preferably within a professional services or multi-entity environment.
  • Demonstrated experience writing standard operating procedures and end-user documentation that were adopted in practice.
  • Experience supporting system rollouts or migrations, including training delivery timed to go-live and post-cutover support.
  • Experience training professional staff who are not obligated to attend, such as attorneys, physicians, consultants or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple brands, entities or operating companies from a single shared platform.
  • Preferred: law firm or legal services environment; familiarity with legal practice management, document management or HCM systems such as Aderant, Clio, iManage or Paylocity; formal change management certification such as Prosci or ADKAR; experience building a learning management system or structured training content library.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional written communication, with the ability to produce procedural documentation that people actually follow.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills across audiences ranging from administrative staff to managing partners.
  • Ability to learn a new system quickly and thoroughly enough to teach it with credibility.
  • Patience and persuasiveness with resistant or time-constrained professionals.
  • Ability to measure adoption objectively and report results without defensiveness.
  • Sound judgment about when a training problem is in fact a process or configuration problem.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to support concurrent rollouts across multiple firms.

COMPENSATION:

The base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000 annually. Placement within the range depends on qualifications and relevant experience. The position is also eligible for an annual incentive of 10 to 15 percent of base salary, tied to program delivery milestones and individual performance.
