Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.
We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our customers and staff across the market, café, bakery, and production areas. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in cleanliness, organization, and working independently.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily cleaning of retail, kitchen, bakery, café, restrooms, storage, and back-of-house areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces throughout the facility
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal
- Maintain cleanliness of entryways, windows, and common areas
- Restock cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory is low
- Follow sanitation, safety, and chemical handling procedures
- Respond promptly to spills and urgent cleaning needs during business hours
- Support deep cleaning projects and seasonal cleaning tasks as assigned
Work Schedule: Sun - Mon 5:00 am - 1:30 pm, Tue - Thu 4:00 pm - 12:30 am
Pay & Compensation: $18-$19 per hour (depending on experience)

Required Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts
