Job Title: Intern – Industrial Engineer (CI)

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to support continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will contribute to advanced analytics, process optimization, and the creation of data-driven frameworks that improve line performance, quality, and throughput while establishing replicable best practices. This position requires initiative, ingenuity, the willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently. The primary role will be in assisting engineers on current projects with activities such as key value stream lighthouse initiatives, time studies, kaizen and value stream mapping events.
Essential Functions:
- Support development and implementation of lighthouse value streams as Industry 4.0 exemplars.
- Assist in stabilizing, optimizing, and scaling production processes through data-driven methods.
- Apply statistical and advanced analytics tools to identify root causes and improvement opportunities in quality, delivery, and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and document replicable continuous improvement frameworks and playbooks.
- Visualize data to support operational decision-making and demonstrate clear links between analytics, decisions, and outcomes.
- Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting results for continuous improvement projects.
- Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions
- Ability to initiate, record, recommend, verify, and implement corrective actions or solutions to problems relating to product, process or quality system.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures and authority to issue purchase orders for subcontracted services
- Must have strong data analytics skillset, with an ability to understand and analyze data to drive decision making.
- Ability to travel domestically – 5% max
