Job DescriptionArmorTech Security is seeking 2 qualified personnel for our Armed Safety Officer position in Vista, California. This position requires officers to display a high degree of attention to detail, tact, common sense, and customer service in a school environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST have a BSIS exposed Firearms Permit
- MUST fully and accurately answer all questions before consideration.
- MUST be able to maintain the confidentiality of restricted and/or sensitive information.
- MUST have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service capacity.
- MUST have current and valid BSIS Guard Certification and be capable of maintaining certification.
- MUST be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds to carry a minimum of 150 feet.
- MUST pass a Background Investigation.
- MUST have a clear criminal history; no felonies or Class A misdemeanors.
- MUST be eligible to work in the United States.
- MUST possess a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- MUST be 20 years of age or older.
- MUST have a reliable and personally owned vehicle with a valid driver's license.
THE ARMED SAFETY OFFICER DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring facility activities to ensure appropriate behavior before, during, and after operating hours.
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of the facility; deterring unauthorized personnel from entering facility grounds.
- Report writing as needed.
- Monitor radio communication channels.
- Conduct periodic safety checks of facility grounds; ensuring entry and exit ways are secured and free from obstruction.
- Assist in traffic control, gate sentry, and administrative security functions as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Security Manager and client.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Must be able to:
- Write and speak clearly and concisely in English using appropriate grammar, punctuation, and spelling; write organized, complete, accurate, and factual reports.
- Understand and apply written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations.
- Bilingual is preferred but not required.
TECH AND COMPUTER SKILLS - Must be able to:
- Demonstrate use of laptops, desktops, two-way radios, fire/ access control, smartphones, and surveillance/ body camera devices.
PHYSICAL AND TRAINING STANDARDS
1) Individuals proposed for assignment in this position will have at least 2.5 years of satisfactory employment in a similar capacity.
2) Any person proposed for assignment will be subject to employment, criminal, and social background screening and investigation in compliance with California State regulations.
3) Individuals proposed for assignment must be in good general health without physical defects or abnormalities that would interfere with the performance of normal and emergency duties. Each officer must meet the following physical standards:
- Possessing binocular vision, correctable to 20/30 (Snellen).
- Able to discriminate between standard colors.
- Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 20 feet and whispered conversation at 10 feet with each ear.
- Able to perform normal and emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 70 lbs, running for short distances, self-defense, and demonstrating full dexterity of hands.
LIFE SAFETY (EMERGENCY)- Must be able to:
- Obtain, demonstrate, and Maintain CPR/ AED skill sets and certification.
- Have a visual acuity that can be corrected to 20/20 with corrective lenses.
A minimum probationary period of 90 days is provided for all newly hired candidates.
Before the initial interview, all candidates must provide the following:
- California Driver's License
- Make, Model, and Year of Vehicle
- BSIS Firearms Certification
- BSIS FQ and Guard Certificate Numbers
- Fully answered Questionnaire
An in-person meeting will be scheduled upon meeting all minimum criteria and completing the initial phase interview.

- 8-hour shift
- Day shift: 07:45- 1600 Monday- Friday
- Saturday 10 am- 6 pm In La Jolla
