Job Summary:

This variety camp is seeking individuals who have teaching experience in an area of specialty to design and implement a camp curriculum in art for our campers. Develop a weekly lesson plan coinciding with our camp themes that challenges campers each week and inspire a passion for the specialty. Applicants must have excellent classroom management skills, high energy and flexibility, and a heart for kids!

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a creative and motivating weekly curriculum for campers and coincide with our camp themes.
• Organize and develop a lesson plan outing weekly goals and supply needs.
• Must be able to differentiate a camp’s curriculum from a classroom’s curriculum to ensure a fun and positive experience for all campers.
• Inspire a love for the specialty area through innovative programming.
• Ability to teach children of all skill levels, ages, and personalities.
• Must have terrific group management skills and communication skills.
• Must be innovative and fun
• Camp experience a plus
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions outdoors
• Act as a positive role model, who empowers campers to learn and experience new situations and maintain a positive attitude in difficult times.
• Abide by the JCYS Employee Handbook and follow all policies, procedures, and safety protocol.
• Be a JCYS ambassador and positively represent the agency in all settings.
