Senior Software Engineer

A client of ours is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. This role involves developing web applications powered by microservices and working on complex insurance product calculations.

What You’ll Do:

Write clean, well-tested code and deliver solutions on time.
Design scalable and maintainable software following best practices.
Create and execute comprehensive test plans, including automated UI and API testing.
Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Review code and contribute to improving development standards.
Stay updated on new technologies and apply them where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong testing skills and experience with test automation.
Ability to analyze problems and create effective solutions.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
Understanding of financial systems a plus.
Experience balancing technical and business needs.

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field required.
5+ years with Java, Spring Boot, and JavaScript frameworks (React.js/Knockout.js preferred).
Experience with REST APIs and financial calculations.
Skilled in writing unit and integration tests (Mocha, Jest, JUnit, etc.).
Comfortable with NoSQL and relational databases.
Agile development experience.
Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred.
Familiarity with XML/JSON and automated test frameworks like Cypress or Selenium.

Bonus Skills:

Financial planning tools experience.
Knowledge of security frameworks (OAuth, Spring Security).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
