Our client seeks a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to design and sustain mission-critical environments for federal programs. The role will operate and improve secure, high-availability data center infrastructure across servers, storage, networking, and power systems. The engineer will apply hands-on expertise to strengthen reliability, resiliency, performance, and operational excellence while collaborating across teams in high-visibility settings.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.
Salary: $180,000 - $235,000/ yr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Use enterprise data center technologies to manage and operate servers, storage, networking, and power systems supporting mission-critical federal environments.
- Support and sustain high-availability operations by monitoring infrastructure health, responding to incidents, and troubleshooting complex hardware and facility issues.
- Design, implement, and improve data center infrastructure solutions that increase reliability, performance, and resiliency.
- Participate in Agile execution, planning, and technical discussions with immediate hands-on contribution.
- Identify risks, constraints, and capacity concerns and communicate mitigation strategies and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute infrastructure changes safely with minimal operational impact.
- Apply best practices for security, availability, and operational excellence in secure, high-visibility environments.
- Establish and maintain customer trust through disciplined execution, ownership, and technical excellence.
Experience Requirements:
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role (e.g., Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP).
- 8+ years designing, implementing, and managing geographically dispersed data center infrastructure in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
- Proven experience ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data center operations, including servers, storage, networking, power, and environmental resource requirements.
- Hands-on administration of virtualized data center platforms, including VMware or equivalent enterprise virtualization technologies.
- Operational management of compute, storage, and network infrastructure, including capacity planning, performance optimization, and lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting high-availability data center operations, including monitoring, fault isolation, and incident response.
- Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
- Required technical certifications include VMware VCP-DCV or equivalent data center platform certification and Security+.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field. Relevant experience may substitute where appropriate.
- Security+ certification.
- VMware VCP-DCV certification or equivalent data center platform certification.
- Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP certifications.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
