Our busy shop is seeking an experienced lube technician to join our automotive service team. This valued position is the gateway to the shop for the consumer and offers an opportunity to provide full-service vehicle care to our community. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks and fills, tire rotations, light bulb replacements, and inspections.


This position requires some knowledge of the mechanical workings of different types of automobiles. Previous experience as a lube technician or automotive technician is desired. Compensation:

$22 hourly


Responsibilities:

  • Document all service procedures performed and parts installed or replaced
  • Oil and lube the chassis's component parts, and measure the tread depth and tire pressure
  • Maintain shop inventory by recording oil and parts usage and reordering supplies when needed
  • Make sure all work areas and the shop floor are clean, and that all safety rules are observed
  • Offer suggestions to consumers for additional services based on mileage and vehicle history
  • Conduct oil changes and fluid inspections on customer vehicles, including emptying and refilling engine oil and checking and refilling transmission, brake, power steering, and coolant fluids
  • Attend technical training classes with the team monthly


Qualifications:

  • Experience working on automobiles or as a lubricant technician of a year or more is preferred
  • Customer service skills are essential for this role
  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to operate vehicle lifts, tools, and other garage equipment safely
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds (or more) is required
