Contractor | Remote (Occasional Onsite in DFW Area)

We are currently seeking a Sr. Technical Support Specialist in the DFW area to handle the core technical operations, assist with client tickets, and ensure all basic IT services are running smoothly. Initially this will be a 1099 contractor position and will transition to a full-time position.

Scope of Work / Services Required:
This Sr. Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing Tier 1-2 support across a variety of client environments. The ideal person will own the resolution to issues and is flexible, reliable, and comfortable managing tasks independently and in coordination with the business owner.

1. End-User Support

  • Respond to help desk tickets and provide remote assistance for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Support user access, troubleshooting, software installs, and device configuration.
  • Provide support for business phone systems (setup, changes, and user issues).
  • Support email account setup, migration, and access (primarily Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace).
  • Provide support for Point-of-Sale systems as needed.

2. Server & Web Support

  • Assist with server or NAS device setup and maintenance.
  • Support printers and shared storage access.
  • Help with basic website/domain issues (DNS, SSL, registrar changes, etc.).

3. Network Management

  • Provide network troubleshooting (Internet, Wi-Fi, and VPN).
  • Firewall and router configuration.
  • Support setup and maintenance of video/audio equipment (conference rooms, remote setups).
  • Configure and troubleshoot network printers.

4. Cybersecurity & Backup

  • Implement and monitor basic endpoint protection (e.g., Bitdefender, SentinelOne).
  • Ensure regular backups are completed and monitored (e.g., cloud or NAS).
  • Support physical security devices (access control, cameras, etc.) as needed.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Small and Medium Sized Businesses (SMBs) or MSPs in a remote or field support role.
  • Familiar with RMM/PSA tools (NinjaOne).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 admin console, Google Workspace, and basic DNS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time well.
  • Work during regular business hours and available to respond occasionally after hours.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Remote but must be Dallas/Fort Worth based; occasionally on site in DFW area.
